Guidance Meeting on 11/26/2012

Participants: Ada Deen, Abbie McGlade, Marcia Morton

Quarter SMART Goal: Target group- 25% 7th grade Hispanic students who missed 15 or more days during the 2011-12 school year will miss less than 15 days in 7th grade.

Minutes: We want these students/families to see the importance of attending school. We want to teach these students the connection between good grades and good attendance.

We reviewed Performance matter to cross reference Hispanic names on each track. We compared 1st quarter attendance data for each track.

We reviewed intervention strategies for these students.

Guidance Meeting on 01/23/2012

Participants: Ada Deen, Abbie McGlade, Marcia Morton and Lauren Connell

Quarter SMART Goal: 50% of targeted students( 7th grade student with 4 or more referrals) will have 3 or less discipline referrals during the 2011-12 school year.

Minutes: Each counselor has identified their target 8th grade students. After reviewing the data it is clear that black males are the main students in these target goups on every track. We have made individual contacts with these students.

Small groups are being facilitated to address behaviors as intervention. We will review our discipline data after 3rd quarter. We have found that some new to Durant students have been added to our group.

ALC duty- has helped us maintain contact with these students.

Guidance Meeting on 12/20/2011

Participants: Abbie McGlade, Lauren Connell, Marcia Morton

Quarter SMART Goal: Quarter SMART Goal: Quarter SMART Goal: Quarter SMART Goal: Quarter SMART Goal: 50% of targeted students will meet State and Local standards for promotion standards by the end of the school year.
50% of targeted students will have one or less discipline referrals in the second semester during the 2011-2012 year.
75% of targeted students will miss 10 or less days in the school year

Minutes: Marcia shared information from the high school registration meeting. There are many changes coming. The names of the math courses will change from algebra I, geometry and algebra II to Common Core I, II, and III. New requirements for social studies–must have 4 credits to graduate. World history is taken in 9th grade, American History I taken in 10th grade, American History II taken in 11th grade and Civics & Economics taken in 12th grade.

We discussed our National Model goals and reviewed our targeted population. Also discussed our interventions that we are using to address those goals. We will be looking at data in January comparing 1st and 2nd quarter.

Quarter SMART Goal: Quarter SMART Goal: SMART Goal: discipline reduction goal – we are following our students who had 3 plus referrals from the 2010-11 school year. We are using different interventions to determine which are the most effective

Minutes: Discussed new assignment pattern and how it might affect our population. Discussed new programs such as the all girl academy and all male academy. Looked at data from our ALC and how our interventions may be affecting those with discipline issues. Also talked about our AttenDances. We are anxious to see if that intervention is helping to improve attendance.
