Quarter SMART Goal: All seventh grade math students will show growth in math as determined by pre-test, benchmarks and EOG.

Minutes: We discussed fourth quarter lessons, projects and preparation for EOG.
Mrs. Bass discussed her 3rd quarter Benchmark results and we shared what we had gathered at our last EOG.
The CMAPP review provides helpful power point information, excellent practice for the grid in section, and thorough Jeopardy games for each strand.
We discussed literacy strategies that were beneficial to us this year.
We also looked forward to the first semester next year, and discussed how to use the hands on equations and calculators for core, and for pre-algebra plus classes.

Minutes: We gathered Data from our 3rd quarter Benchmark. We had similarities in that we hadn’t taught all of the geometry unit before giving the benchmark. However, Carson’s testing window for track 4 is just opening for pre-algebra, so she and Tammy will have been able to teach the units before testing.

Quarter SMART Goal: All seventh grade math students will show growth in math as determined by pre-test, benchmarks and EOG.

Minutes: Southard is working through Volume and Surface area. She is finishing transitions and wanted to use the Connected Math book, that we don’t have. We shared materials.
Carson is finishing transitions, then will begin Volume and Surface Area. Track 4 has not given the 3rd quarter Benchmark and will in Early May.
Dooley is finishing Statistics and will give a test Monday. She shared the test and work pages she’s using.
We explored the CMAPP EOG prep sites, the released test and how the answers for free response should be bubbled.

Quarter SMART Goal: All seventh grade math students will show growth in math as determined by pre-test, benchmarks and EOG.

Minutes: We met vertically with the 8th grade teachers. We discussed their concerns about the new EOC test for Math 1. They are thinking of creating a Math 8 Plus in the future. We discussed that 7th grade teachers followed the guidelines for placement into 8th grade math this year. We talked about a possible Math 8 Plus again in the future. The 8th grade teachers informed us that their curriculum treats systems of equations as a review. We taught slope this year, but barely touched on systems of equations and graphing. 7th grade teachers asked 8th grade teachers to send us a 3 day mini unit they’d like us to teach after EOGs this year so that our students are exposed to it. We cover a review of integers, rational numbers, PEMDAS and equations , along with a mini unit on Pythagorean Theorem after EOGs now, so we will also add this mini unit.
