1 Book, 1 School (2012-2013)
Wonder by R.J. Palacio
Durant Road Middle School students will participate in our first ever One Book, One School program this fall. Students across grade levels, their teachers, administrators, and other DRMS staff will read the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Parents are encouraged to read along, too! Students will read and discuss this book and participate in curriculum-connected activities. Students are encouraged to purchase their own copy of the book. You can purchase your student’s copy of the book at your favorite bookseller or, for your convenience, you can purchase a copy through Durant. A local independent book store is giving our students a 25% discount when they purchase the book through our school. With tax included, the cost of the book is $12.80. This online payment system is a convenient way to purchase your student’s copy of Wonder. We also welcome you to donate a copy of the book to the DRMS media center for students who are financially unable to purchase their own copy.
The first order deadline for purchasing through Durant is Friday, August 24, 2012.
The second order deadline for purchasing through Durant is Friday, September 14, 2012.
No payments will be accepted after that time!

Make your payment online through the Wake County School System Online School Payments program (OSP). Visit http://durantroadms.wcpss.net/web/, click on “For Parents” and “Online School Payments” to create an account. Note: there is a small service fee for using this resource.
Students who order books through the school will be notified when they’re ready for pick-up. This is a wonderful and unique opportunity for your student. We hope you’re as excited about it as we are!
