Genetics Test Time!

This week marks the end of our Genetics Unit with a major test on Tuesday and the close of Second Quarter grades on Wednesday. The test will be included in the Third Quarter, allowing for retakes until we track-out. On Friday, we will extract our own DNA and students will bring home theirs in a small necklace charm.

Marshmallows & Pedigrees

This week we will explore variations on Mendelian dominance by building our own Critter offspring using marshmallows and many other supplies. After the Wednesday off, in honor of Veterans Day, we will complete some Pedigree puzzles to see how these diagrams can help us figure out patterns of inheritance.

Don't forget the HUGE Genetics test that's coming up on November 17th. We'll make a Study Guide in class on Friday.
