Welcome Back Track 4!

July 26, 2009

Tomorrow (Monday, July 27) marks the first day of school for students and families on Track 4. We welcome all of these returning students, especially those new to Durant Road Middle School. We wish you an exciting and rewarding year!

Parents, please make plans to join us on Thursday, August 6 at 7 PM for Track 4's "Meet the Teacher" Night.

Tdap Booster Clinics

All rising 6th graders are required to have a Tdap booster shot unless they have had a tetanus shot in the last five years. Wake County Human Services is offering free clinics in July and August. The documents below offer more details:

First Early Release Day this Wednesday

July 19, 2009

This Wednesday, July 22, is the first Early Release Day for the 2009-2010 school year. Students will be dismissed at 12:10 PM. Lunch will be served and all buses will run as usual, beginning at that time. Carpool students need to be picked up at 12:10.

Each track will have five more days just like Wednesday.

"Meet the Teacher Night" and SPAN Access

Parents have the opportunity this Thursday night (July 16) at 7 PM to visit Durant, and meet the teachers and administrators. Come see presentations by each of the Track 1, 2, and 3 teachers as well as representatives from Technology Education, Vocational Education, Arts, and Healthful Living. Parents can visit the Media Center and the Cafeteria, and PTA members will be present to accept new memberships. Please report to your child's homeroom upon arrival. Track 4 will have its Meet the Teacher event on August 6.

Also, this year parents and students can view grades, attendance, and discipline information using the SPAN online system. Students will get their login information from their teachers, but parents who wish to request their own accounts need to visit this page, and read more. Meet the Teacher Night is a great opportunity to complete the request form!

A New Year Begins!

As we begin the 2009-2010 academic year, we welcome all of the new and returning students from Tracks 1, 2, and 3 who will start classes on Tuesday, as well as Track 4 students who begin classes on July 27. We hope that you find this website to be informative and useful. Explore it when you can, and come back often for updates and news.
