March Bucket Winners Announced
March 10, 2009
This afternoon, at the monthly Faculty Meeting, March's winners of the Bucket Award were announced. Sarah Hall, the lead secretary, Lynda Boltz, the vocal music teacher, and Diane Miller, a Math teacher and our current Teacher of the Year were chosen by previous bucket winners to be recognized. The recognition includes a lapel pin and a hand-painted bucket that gets passed on the next recipient, as well as a heartfelt description of the specific and meaningful ways that each has positively affected their lives.
The Bucket Award is given to faculty and staff who make a difference in large and small ways across the campus. Inspired by the book "How Full is Your Bucket?" written by Tom Rath and Don Clifton, that presents satisfaction and personal outlook as a result of the positive feedback--"drops in our buckets"--we receive from others and the negative attitudes--"drops from our buckets"--that other impose on our lives. The Durant Road Middle School staff has already received recognition for its use of this philosophy as tool to improve upon our positive school culture.
Please join us in congratulating these two positive influences.
